Things I have learned about crocheting hexagons (and myself):
- It is fun.
- There really are endless color combos.
- I like some hexagons better than others.
- While I may not love them equally, I still love each hexagon for what it brings to the table, er, blanket.
- I like it when people tell me which hexagons are their favorite.
- It takes almost as long to weave in the ends as it does to crochet a hexagon.
- Like with knitting, I think I over weave ends.
- Although I suspect I am over weaving the ends, I still can’t stop.
- I know I should start blocking the finished hexagons but the growing stack of hexagons on my table really pleases me and I haven’t wanted to part with it.
- I think this blanket is going to be crazy awesome.

Block some for heaven’s sake!!!
And yes, it is going to be awesome.
I am loving it.
wow, more than halfway!! It’s going to be so amazing when it’s done.
I downloaded the pattern for this one. Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery? I really hope so.
Have you heard of the weaving-as-you-crochet method at http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2008/10/granny-squaring.html? Brilliant and time-saving.
Wow! I do think too that it will be an awesome blanket! I would add that you probably learned about yourself that you are very patient
All these ends to weave in… I too tend to over do it a little
Good work!
because YOU are crazy awesome
What fabulous colors!
I’m so with you on 6,7,&8. I have the same disease with sewing and finishing my seams. I actually had to have a talk with myself and make myself go easy on the seam finishing…
It will be so crazy awesome. I can’t wait! I think I overweave ends, too, even more so on gifts. Keep it up!
It looks awesome!! You’re inspiring me to pick up a hook and try it again…”try” being the operative word…I think I’ve got some sort of mind block when it comes to crocheting.
Looks like it is going to be a winner. AND you shall finish it in no time. Well done, Erin !
My favorite: far right column, third from the bottom. I completely agree with #10, and would like to ask you to explain to me why the mere addition of a few sides makes the hexagon so blamed cool-looking?

Love the hex. I bought The Happy Hooker and a wicked awesome crochet hook over the weekend. So excited to get started (as soon as my 10 million knitting projects are finished).
These are great! my favourite is the far left hex on the sixth row back. I overweave the ends on everything. It’s like insurance
That’s it – I am starting this blanket post haste!
Weaving ends… you mean crocheting ends in, right? Except for the exterior color there is no good reason to be weaving in ends on a crochet project like this.
They are v pretty. I have to admit I would probably sew the thing together before I block it, though that might be an error on my part.
Love it ! The colors are really pretty. Can’t wait to see the finish product. Also-you need to post some pics from your trip!
is it for a baby or is it lap-sized, or do i not understand how big 36 hexagons really are? just curious. eh, don’t block them now, hexagons have got to be some of the easiest, most fun things to block, right? imagine having them all done at one go! fun! or maybe i’m just really weird like that?
OMG, these are amazeball! I *need* to learn how to crochet!!
I miss you Erin. It’s nice to hear your voice in your blog. Someday you will have to teach me how to crochet and Jon can make us some food.
My favorite is the sunny orange one in the second row on the left. Looks great, can’t wait to see it finished!
