I had another post planned but I had to preempt it for very important breaking news. Denver is home to many things I love, one of which is Smashburger. Most of my Denver friends (and every friend that came to visit me when I lived in Denver) knows how much I love me some Smashburger. The decision to move was made more difficult when I realized I would have to leave behind my BBQ Bacon & Cheese, Mushroom Swiss Smashchicken, and Haagen-dazs ice cream shakes. With great reluctance I said goodbye to Smashburger vowing to return soon.
Well folks, soon may be closer than I thought…
No, your eyes do not deceive you (as they did mine at first.) Smashburger is coming to Utah!!! The Sugarhouse location is opening in mid-August. Um…can you believe it? I am kind of freaking out here. I am not sure what it says about my life that this is the best news I have heard in a long time but whatever…I get to eat Smashburger! Any time I want to!
Now all that is left is if my Denver people moved to Salt Lake. Smashburger did it, why can’t you?

Have you tried “5 Guys” on Fort Union Blvd? I wonder how it compares.
It says you are a Hallstrom! I have never even heard of Smashburger but I’m excited! One write up of Louisiana said the people just don’t eat to live, they “Relish food”…our kind of people! let me know when it opens so I can start “relishing”!?
Now if we’d only get an In N Out in the valley, the best of California would be joining us as well!

Oh great, now there is an even lesser chance that you will come out and visit us. Lame. I’m not sure if us as people will have enough pull without Smashburger helping us.
Be sure to try the Bee Hive Burger with Honey BBQ Sauce as well as the Grasshopper Shake! Utah is the first market to receive a special shake! I’m glad you love smashburger!

This is one of the reasons I can’t leave my home state. I would miss some places way too much.
I’ve never had a Smashburger, but I can appreciate the fervid devotion you have to it. Please tell the Smashburger people to head down to Arizona next. I’ll bide my time with In N Out until then. Thank you.
Oh, I love me a good hamburger! I’ll have to try it out. At the moment, Five Guys Burgers and Fries has my heart (sorry in n out)

Oh Erin I think that is super exciting. Now if only they will bring one to VA. I’m missing the wonderful melty taste that smashburger has to offer. That was the food I turned to when I was a little stressed and needed some food comfort. I miss eating it with you and Teri for meetings. That was my favorite. Love you.
Sounds like we have one more place to check out when we come up for Christmas! Mmmmm…..burgers……mmmmmm.
I don’t really seek out “burger joints” but did recently try 5 Guys and fell in love with the mushroom with grilled onions burger. Perhaps I will have to try me some Smashburger. Will you introduce us?

There is actually a location arriving before the Sugar House one. Wed, Aug. 12, Smashburger opens in West Valley at 3500 South and 2700 West. That means you’ll get to fulfill that craving a week before you thought.
