This month has been crazy. My routine has been shaken up in so many ways–some good some not so good–that I feel like I have barely had time to breathe. I am beat. I really don’t know how I managed to get myself ready to go on a two and a half week vacation on the other side of the world but I did and after the longest flights ever, this morning I woke up in downtown Hong Kong.
I have never been here before but it is the strangest thing–it feels like home. For those who don’t know, my parents have lived here for the past year and a half and coming into their apartment last night gave me such strong feelings of belonging and comfort that I immediately relaxed. I am home for Christmas.
Now I know my blogging has suffered severely in the last month–so has my knitting for that matter. I am sure my bloglines has hundreds of feeds for me to read. Also, first order of business for my knitting projects is to finish Venezia. Once and for all. I should have been done with this a couple weeks ago but I just haven’t had time. I am half way through sleeve number two. I brought the whole sweater with me and will be finishing here. I also started a new project on the plane…I will reveal its identity as soon as I can get how to upload pictures figured out on my Mom’s computer. Then I will be posting pictures of Hong Kong too.
Finally, for all you who live in Salt Lake City or who plan to visit, check out Your Heart Out. A work friend of mine and his wife started this blog about the unique shopping and cool spots in SLC. The photography is awesome and they update almost every day. You for sure should go check it out. It makes me want to move to Salt Lake–um, if I didn’t already live here.
Well, now I am going to go enjoy a nice breakfast and maybe go work out at the gym in my parent’s building. Then perhaps I will go explore or shop or read or knit or just chill with Mom and Dad. Sigh…I can’t tell you how much I need this. It is good to be home.
